I am not a parent, but I am guessing these are all REALLY bad ideas.... This one is one of my favorites, purely because of the look on this kids face.

As some of you may know, Sift was approached with a legal challenge over the use of the term “cupcakery” in our name. Instead of spending time and money battling in court, we decided to focus on what we do best: making ridiculously delicious desserts.
This December, Sift will transform from a cupcakery into a full on dessert bar! Cupcakes have always have been, and will be, a huge part of what makes Sift great. That said, we are using this as a great opportunity to introduce you to some exciting new desserts we will be premiering soon. “Sift cupcake & dessert bar” will feature the same cupcakes you love, and 5 new amazing desserts. Due to Facebook restrictions, we can not change the name of this group to “Sift a cupcake and dessert bar” without creating an entirely new fan page. Social networking is a great way for Sift to talk to and hear back from our loyal fans. So we’re asking you to please join our new page and keep posting. To say thanks for making the switch, those of you tuned into our new page could potentially become taste testers! So join our page, checkout the new desserts coming this December, and we’ll see you at the dessert bar. http://www.facebook.com/siftcupcakeanddessertbar -The Sift Family Don't miss out on our fabulous Thanksgiving dozen. Last day to order is Monday, November 22nd. |

Just sounds like I am making excuses right....
Well, it is time to start having a bit more control, which is why I have been on my version of a cleanse lately... Trying to change my normal bad routines and add additional good routines. More about what those are to come.
I seriously recommend anyone else who eats and drinks for a living to at least read Jeff's post!
A new iphone app just came out that tracks the steps you take up stairs... And it is free.
It makes me wish the stairs in my office were unlocked so I could take the three flights of stairs rather than use the elevator everyday. Though, I bet this would be perfect in any big city where there is less space and buildings have 20+ floors to walk. And it takes at least two sets of stairs to get into your apartment....
Nevertheless, I still wanna try this out!
The Napa Valley Film Festival is showing I Am at the Opera House in downtown Napa at 5:30 this evening.
Anyone else going?
I visited ubuntu in downtown Napa for the first time last night. If you are not familiar with this restaurant, it is a Michelin-starred restaurant that serves only vegetarian dishes… Yes, a gourmet restaurant where I can eat every single thing on the menu. Or what I like to call, my own personal foodie heaven. Fall is my favorite time of year, not only because of the falling leaves and best holiday's, but because of the FOOD. Squash, figs, pumpkin, leeks, swiss chard, mushrooms. All my favorites. Here are some pictures and the menu from my dinner last night:
SUNCHOKE tostones, roasted and raw ‘fuyu’ persimmon, smoked GREEN TOMATO
vadouvan spiced ‘lunga di napoli’ squash and torn brioche salad
brioche bread crust “gravy,” pine nut pudding , pickled ‘fuji’ APPLES
‘zolfino’ BEAN and fermented green FIG ribollita with parmesan cracklings
‘sessantina’ RAPINI, TAT SOI, smoked ‘kadota’ FIGS
I will be on a panel at tomorrow's Innovation Summit 2010 discussing just this.... Measurement. The ultimate goal for any marketing campaign is turning relationships (via social media or otherwise) into sales. If this doesn't happen then most likely the head honchos at your company will pull the plug and say that marketing doesn't work. (Trust me, I have been there...)
So in order to prove that what you are doing online is working, you HAVE to show it....
From a 2006 DoubleClick report: Survey respondents said they were twice as likely to notice a web ad , not click on it, but visit the advertised site later (61 percent), as they were to click on an banner ad to reach a site (30 percent).
