This email CRACKED me up and I wanted to share it with you.  I set up an Ok Cupid account last year just to test it out, barely using it other than to talk to friends that end up finding me and think it is hilarious to harass me on the site (Yes, Joe.. I am talking to you).  I get emails randomly and today this one was in my in-box. ha.  "Suddenly, the world is my oyster."

    I cannot wait...

An image of ShannonRhy = good-looking

We are very pleased to report that you are in the top half of OkCupid's most attractive users. The scales recently tipped in your favor, and we thought you'd like to know.

How can we say this with confidence? We've tracked click-thrus on your photo and analyzed other people's reactions to you in QuickMatch and Quiver.. . .

Your new elite status comes with one important privilege:

You will now see more attractive people in your match results.

This new status won't affect your actual match percentages, which are still based purely on your answers and desired match's answers. But the people we recommend will be more attractive. Also! You'll be shown to more attractive people in their match results.

Suddenly, the world is your oyster. Login now and reap the rewards. And, no, we didn't just send this email to everyone on OkCupid. Go ask an ugly friend and see.

Please remind me that next time my roommate says, “Hey I think you should make cookies” that I hate rules, science and waiting & that is basically what baking is.  Oh, and this is what happens when I attempt to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (with wheat flour).

At least the zinfandel from Harvest Moon Winery was delicious!  Perfectly paired with humiliation and shame.  Thanks Randy! :)

Or sometime later in 2011 I should be in India recreating The Darjeeling Limited to celebrate my thirtieth.

If my life had a soundtrack, I would have to steal this song from the movie's soundtrack.

    Tvbask

According to the Council for Research Excellence (CRE) and Nielsen Company, consumers to watch TV commercials.  I am of course one of those consumers, but then again, the whole reason I got into marketing was because I wanted to write the cereal commercials I watched as a kid growing up in the 80's... So I really don't count here.

"In fact, it turns out the conventional wisdom is all wrong: TV advertising and program promotions reach 85% of adults daily, and viewers typically see 26 advertising or promotional breaks —  accounting for 73 minutes — each day."

I also noticed a new feature on Hulu where you can judge commercials, just as you do with ads on Facebook, making them more relevant to you.  No more stupid SUV or tampon commercials for me!

It was another perfect Sunday afternoon in Dry Creek Valley.

Sometimes I just look at the pictures that my iphone takes and cannot even believe I took them. Thank you iphone for turning me (and anyone who pays $1.99 for the hipstmatic) into a great photographer!

    Wineinacan

A clip from one of my favorite shows on TV... Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Mac: You guys are drinking wine out of those cans?
Dennis: Hellll yeah, baby. Hell yeah!
    Mac: Can I have one?
    Dee: Yeah!
Dennis: You will notice the advantages almost immediately.
    Dee: Here, try this.
Mac: I feel like drinking wine out of a can is conducive to my violent hand gestures when I speak.
Dennis: Right, you tend to be very emphatic and strong.
Mac: Say I wanna give one to Frank… like that!
Dee: You didn’t get any on me.

(The episode is called The Gang Gives Frank an Intervention and it is one of my personal favorite episode's... Great life lessons here...)

Last Sunday I got together with a group of friends at Michel-Schlumberger for some Dirty South Fried Chicken, wine and good times.  Food blogger and creator of the amazing website TasteSpotting.com, Sarah (aka @TheDelicious) was staying in the Michel Schlumberger suite and Hardy (aka @Dirtysouthwine) decided to take over his gourmet kitchen (yup, he lives at the winery... Lucky guy) to fry up some of his infamous Southern chicken.

Evan (aka @Knife4Hire), a personal chef for hire (yes, that is what the knife for hire means) cooked up some lasagna cupcakes which he called lasagnettes and some prosciutto wrapped enoki mushrooms (those are the guys that look like little squids to me).

Great night.  Great food.  Great friends, both new and old.

At the FFA fair. Yup, the future farmers of America. I know way too many people from high school and over the past four years.

    Wow, I do miss Healdsburg.

My main website can be found at http://shanaray.com but I use this one as my social media/wine/food/music/llama blog and my way to get out my frustrations with the stuffiness that sometimes comes with wine.

I am a partner at Two Five Media and a Digital Media + PR Manager for Collaborize Classroom http://CollaborizeClassroom.com/blog

    .... yup, llamas.
