My friend and fellow downtown Santa Rosa small business owner, Veronica Passalacqua, is a Makeup Artist and Esthetician working with Serendipity Salon, close to the corner or 7th and Mendocino Ave and JS Makeup Artistry (Me and my partner designed the website, so make sure to check it out). She does facials, peels, makeup and waxing and is providing free makeup services at Girl's Night Out at Asti Winery up in Cloverdale on May 21st!

Altogether, last night's episode of Saturday Night Live was just like any other one as of recent...   Some good laughs, some really bad sketches that last entirely too long, and me remembering how much I love Bill Hader (even if he wasn't in much).

I was disappointed that none of Jay-Z's musical acts were on Hulu (haven't checked on NBC.com though) or that he didn't act in any of the sketches, or that the rendition of "Thank you for being a friend" wasn't on Hulu, but oh well.  Still a great tribute to one of the most beloved people in entertainment!

Here is a clip of my favorite sketch for your viewing pleasure...

Huge thanks to Craig Gummer for reminding me on Twitter that Betty White will be hosting Saturday Night Live tonight!!

Take a look at this clip of Betty talking about why she is hosting (i.e., A Facebook Page dedicated to getting her to host)

(Side note, Betty White reminds me exactly of my Nana, minus the reddish blonde hair, which means that each time I hear her voice I almost start crying).   I miss you Nana!

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.  - Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Today the Toad in the Hole Brew Pub in Railroad Square (Santa Rosa) had their second annual Mostly Python event where they closed off the street, served beers in plastic cups, had bad performers act out Monty Python skits and several local bands played (including Healdsburg favorites, Steve Pile and CRAZY FAMOUS).  But the best part of the afternoon was the Carnival of Chaos' Juggling Act.

These guys were also at the Park Avenue Catering Open House I went to a few weeks back and they are definitely an act I want to see again!

A sneak peak from their website:

Last weekend was the 20th annual Passport to Dry Creek Valley up here in Healdsburg.  It also marked my very first time actually being able to attend (vs. working the event).

The event was a food (and wine) lovers DREAM with every winery cooking up something delicious.   There is no doubt that this area is my personal favorite for great wines and amazing hospitality.

Wineries like Michel-Schlumberger, Bella and Amista Vineyards really out did themselves with food, entertainment and sticking to their themes.

Here are some of my iphone pictures.....

Tonight I will be venturing over the hill into Napa Valley.  For many of those who know me, they know I am not the biggest Napa fan (grew up in Sonoma, lived in the town of Napa for 6 months), but the town of Calistoga is different.  It is a quaint little town of farmers and locals, much like Healdsburg once was (pre-HH.. If you know what I mean).  So, tonight I am headed to Calistoga for the second time this year. Mr. @Calistoga has been talking about this place I have never heard of called Villa Catoga, it apparently is the home of Italian artist, Carlo Marchiori.

The last time I visited Calistoga, I got to see Carlo’s work at the Ca’Toga Galleria D’Arte, which I am assuming means Art Gallery in Italian.  I have pictures of my visit, but I have to find them so I will post later…  If you go to the website, you will see just how gorgeous his work is and that my iphone pictures do not do the masterpiece on the ceiling justice.

Anyway, tonight I get to visit the home of this artist during “An Evening at @VillaCatoga.”   Tickets are still available at the door if you are around Calistoga, come hang out with us tonight! Also, Calistoga Inn, Restaurant & Brewery is running a special for anyone attending the event, $49 + Tax!  Just call 707-942-4101 and tell them you are attending tonight!

Some more information from the Facebook Event page…..
